Background

Dan Dowdy is a second-generation master plumber with more than two decades in the trades, having worked his way up from service technician to master plumber and general manager at S&D Plumbing, one of the premier five-star plumbing companies in the Austin market. Dan helped grow the team and put budgeting, training, marketing, and coaching systems in place. In 2020 he founded Built for the Trades, an executive leadership coaching, training, and mastermind community built specifically for trades businesses. He is a certified John Maxwell coach, speaker, and trainer.

Having come up through the trades and then devoted himself to coaching the people who run them, Dan is energized by the chance to help operators step into ownership of plumbing, HVAC, and electrical businesses and lead them well. He brings both hands-on operational experience and a network of seasoned trades operators, making him a strong resource for diligence, leadership development, and the day-to-day realities of running a service business.
