John spent 17 years in commercial sales at ExxonMobil before leaving corporate to become a co-founder of MillenGroup — a specialized health insurance benefits consulting firm in Richmond, Virginia. Over the next 16 years he grew it from small accounts to corporate clients with thousands of employees, competing against the largest brokers in the country and building a reputation for wholesale purchasing strategies that cut clients' health costs while lowering employee deductibles, before successfully exiting the business in 2024.
